Joy that Lasts

Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stay true to the Lord. I love you and long to see you, dear friends, for you are my JOY and the crown I receive for my work. Philippians 4:1

“Therefore…”

That word invites us to pause and look back.
Anytime we see therefore in Scripture, we should ask: “What is it there for?”

In Philippians, Paul has just lifted our eyes to eternity. He reminds us that our citizenship is in heaven, that we eagerly await our Savior, and that Christ will transform our lowly bodies to be like His glorious one (Philippians 3:20–21).

Because of that… therefore.

Because this world is not our home…
Because Jesus is coming again…
Because our future is secure in Him…

“Stand firm in the Lord.”

So ask yourself:
Who has God placed in my life to love, encourage, and walk with?

That is your assignment.
That is your eternal investment.
That is where JOY grows.

Stand firm… not just for yourself,
but for the people God has entrusted to you.

Prayer: Lord, help me stand firm in You when life feels uncertain. May I hold on tightly to what is true, no matter what I face. Fill my heart with JOY as I faithfully love and encourage the people You’ve placed in my life.
