Honored in Joy

“Welcome him in the Lord’s love and with great JOY,
and give him the honor that people like him deserve.”
— Philippians 2:29

Paul doesn’t just tell them to receive Epaphroditus—
he tells them to welcome him with JOY and honor him.

Why?

Because faithfulness matters.

Epaphroditus had served, suffered, and stayed faithful. And Paul wanted that kind of life to be recognized.

This kind of JOY goes beyond feelings— it celebrates what God is doing in others.

It’s the JOY of:
• honoring faithfulness
• recognizing sacrifice
• valuing those who serve quietly

Sometimes we overlook the people who show up, give, and serve without recognition.

But Paul reminds us— these are the ones worthy of honor.

Paul is saying:
“When you see faithfulness, celebrate it.
When you see sacrifice, honor it.
Let your JOY be expressed in how you value others.”

Who in your life has been quietly faithful?
How can you honor and encourage them today?

Prayer:
Lord, open my eyes to see the faithfulness of others.
Give me a heart that encourages, honors, and uplifts.
Fill me with Your JOY as I celebrate what You are doing in those around me. Amen.
