Changed Forever
Some people enter our lives and forever change us, but there is something especially sacred about a child God places into a mother’s arms. Joy was not only my daughter — she was my beloved special needs daughter, one of the greatest gifts God ever entrusted to me.
Joy passed away at the age of 32, and not a day goes by that I do not miss her deeply. She taught me far more than I could have ever taught her. Through her life, I learned patience, compassion, unconditional love, and the beauty of seeing the world through gentler eyes. She had a way of touching hearts without even trying. Her smile, her spirit, and her presence brought light into places that needed it most.
The world often measures people by accomplishments, abilities, or independence, but God measures differently. He looks at the heart. And Joy’s life reflected something beautiful and pure that only Heaven can fully explain. She reminded me daily that every person is created intentionally and wonderfully by God, with dignity, value, and purpose.
Being her mother was both a privilege and a calling. There were difficult days, exhausting days, and heartbreaking days, but there was also deep joy, fierce love, laughter, and moments that made heaven feel very near. She forever changed my life, and I truly do not know how to thank God enough for allowing me to be her mother.
Even though her life on earth ended at 32, love does not end there. A mother carries her child in her heart forever. I believe with all my soul that the God who created Joy with such care now holds her safely in His presence.
