THE HEART OF TAPESTRY OF JOY

What if the faith you’re holding today was partly built by someone else’s obedience to Jesus command to:

“Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations…” Matthew 28:19?

Over the past several weeks, we’ve explored God’s grace, mercy, faithfulness, forgiveness, and hope. But you may be wondering… Why am I so passionate about sharing these truths?

The answer is one word: Discipleship.

Simply put, discipleship is helping someone else follow Jesus—taking what God has taught us and passing it on.

Years ago, I struggled with my faith because I misunderstood God. I loved Him, but I didn’t fully understand His Word, His character, or my relationship with Him. Then God placed people in my life who patiently opened Scripture and helped me see the truth. My eyes were opened, my understanding deepened, and everything changed.

That’s what discipleship does.

We sometimes put ministry in a box. We imagine it happening inside a church building, behind a pulpit, or in a formal Bible study. But Jesus taught wherever people were—on roads, around tables, beside the sea, and on hillsides.

So discipleship can happen anywhere. It can happen through a devotional, a conversation, a cup of coffee, a text, a card, or even a Facebook post someone happens to read at exactly the right moment.

That’s why I love Tapestry of Joy. Because none of us learns in isolation. We stand on the shoulders of those who came before us.

Paul told Timothy, “Entrust to reliable people who will also be qualified to teach others.” 2 Timothy 2:2

Paul taught Timothy. Timothy taught others. And those people taught others.

We receive. We learn. We grow. And then we pass it on.

That is discipleship.

Paul also reminds us that God comforts us “so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.” 2 Corinthians 1:3–4

God never intended His comfort to stop with us. His grace isn’t meant to stop with us. His mercy isn’t meant to stop with us. His truth isn’t meant to stop with us.

What God gives us is meant to become a blessing to someone else.

That’s why I write.

I don’t have all the answers, and I certainly haven’t lived a perfect Christian life. I’m simply someone who has been helped, taught, corrected, encouraged, and pointed back to God’s Word by people God placed in my life.

Someone invested in me. Someone took the time to teach me. Someone helped me see God more clearly.

And now it is my joy to do the same for someone else.

One thread connects to another. One life touches another. One generation teaches the next.

That is the tapestry God is weaving.

So perhaps the question isn’t simply, “What has God given me?” Perhaps the deeper question is:

“Who is God asking me to pour into?”

Think about it. Who took the time to teach you? Who encouraged you when your faith was weak? Who helped you understand Scripture? Who pointed you back to Jesus?

Someone’s thread became part of your story. And perhaps God wants your thread to become part of someone else’s.

So if something you read here encourages you, pass it along. Not because it points to me. Please don’t even feel the need to mention my name. Share it because it points someone to Jesus. Share it because it points someone to Scripture. Share it because someone you know may be walking through the very struggle these words address.

You never know when a simple devotional, a shared post, a text, or a few words of truth might land in someone’s heart at exactly the right moment.

And if God uses it? Give Him all the glory.

Because this has never been about building my name. It’s about pointing people to His.

I’m simply one thread in the tapestry.

He is the Weaver.

Who was the person God used to help you understand Him more clearly? Share their name—or better yet, share their story.

Then ask yourself: Who is God asking me to pour into?

Because the thread you received was never meant to stop with you.

Receive it. Learn from it. Grow through it. Pass it on.

That is discipleship.

And that is the heart of Tapestry of Joy.

The tapestry is still being woven.
