He Remains Faithful
The envelope seemed to vanish at the worst possible moment. With three important meetings approaching, I had all my paperwork ready—except for the documents I needed for an appointment with the Social Security office. No matter how hard I searched, they were nowhere to be found.
I retraced every step. I searched every file I had touched, looked through banking records, and sorted through medical paperwork spanning 32 years.
Nothing.
Frustrated and discouraged, I finally went to bed.
The next morning, I started fresh and searched again.
Still nothing.
Eventually, I decided I would simply do my best at the meeting without the paperwork.
My better half asked, "What can I do to help?"
I replied, "Nothing. You'd have to know what you're looking for."
"What does it look like?" he asked.
"It's a large white envelope, kind of grayish, with 'Social Security' written on it."
He left the room and returned a couple of minutes later.
"Is this what you're looking for?"
"Yes! Where in the world did you find it?"
"It had fallen beside your computer."
What stands out to me all these years later is not that the envelope was found, but how faithfully God answered my prayers.
As I went to bed and upon awakening the next morning, I prayed, "Lord, help me find this paperwork."
And He did.
Now, I know finding a missing envelope may seem like a small thing, but it reminded me of a much bigger truth: God hears the prayers of His children. He sees our concerns. Nothing is too small to bring before Him.
He is the God who hears.
He is the God who sees.
He is faithful.
Perhaps you've had a time when you needed the Lord's help and didn't know what to do. Maybe your need was far greater than a missing envelope. Whatever it was, you discovered the same thing I did: our faithful God hears, sees, and remains faithful.
