ONLY GOD COULD HAVE ORCHESTRATED THIS

“If I told you my story

You would hear Hope that wouldn't let go”

Big Daddy Weave - My Story

Sometimes God is writing a story long before we realize we’re living it.

When I wrote these lessons, I had no idea how perfectly God would time them. I simply wrote them, added them to my calendar, and planned to post them.

I never planned for Luke 16—a story about eternity, heaven, and being ready—to fall during the week of the anniversary of Joy’s death.

In fact, I wasn’t even planning to write a post about her anniversary this year.

Then, on August 9, I woke up and checked to see if that day’s lesson had posted.

It hadn’t.

As I looked back through my calendar, I discovered something I hadn’t noticed before:

One date was completely blank.

August 11.

The anniversary of Joy’s home-going.

So I rearranged the lessons and wrote today’s lesson specifically for August 11.

And suddenly I realized…

God had already made room for this.

I hadn’t planned it.

I hadn’t noticed it.

I certainly hadn’t orchestrated it.

But God did.

Seven years ago, I stood beside Joy as her earthly story came to an end.

And now, seven years later, I find myself writing about eternity on the very anniversary of the day she entered it.

A lesson about eternity.

On the anniversary of Joy entering eternity.

Wow.

Only God could have done that.

He knew when I would write these lessons.

He knew how I would schedule them.

He knew which date would be left blank.

He knew.

Long before I did.

Maybe that’s what makes me want to cry.

Seven years ago, when all I could see was heartbreak, God could already see the whole story.

He was weaving it all along.

And sometimes, God gives us a glimpse of the tapestry He has been weaving behind the scenes.

This is one of those moments when I can only look up and say…

“Only God.”
