Joy in the Journey
Paul pulls together how to find JOY in our journey.
It begins with our focus—intentional and fixed on Christ.
As our dear Pastor Hammarberg used to say, “Gaze at the Savior and glance at the problem.” Wise words that echo Paul’s message so clearly.
When we REJOICE we choose to look up instead of around.
When we walk in love and unity, we stay connected and encouraged.
When we live with purpose, we trust that God is working in every step.
The peace of God then guards our hearts and minds, and as Philippians 4:8 reminds us, what we think about shapes what we feel.
JOY is found when our gaze stays on Him—and everything else falls into its proper place.
What are you focusing on today—the Savior or the problem?
Lord, help me fix my eyes on You. When distractions and worries pull at my heart, remind me to gaze at You and not my problems. Fill me with Your peace, guard my thoughts, and guide my steps. Teach me to love well, and to trust Your purpose in every moment. Let Your JOY grow in me each day. Amen.
