Like a Stream

I took this photograph of a briskly flowing stream in the Tel Dan Nature Reserve in northern Israel. Many believe Psalm 42 was written near these waters.

As I watched the stream rush by, I was reminded of how quickly life can change. Yet one thing never changes: God is FAITHFUL.

The writer of Psalm 42 faced discouragement and uncertainty, yet he chose to place his hope in God:

"Why am I discouraged? Why is my heart so sad? I will put my hope in God! I will praise Him again—my Savior and my God!" — Psalm 42:11

Faith does not mean we never struggle. It means we continue to trust God in the midst of our struggles. When we cannot see the way forward, we can rest in the truth that God sees what we cannot and remains FAITHFUL to His promises.

Like the waters of this stream, life's circumstances are always moving and changing. But our God remains the same—FAITHFUL yesterday, today, and forever.
