Rejoice & Be Glad

Psalm 118:24 is a beautiful reminder that every day is a gift from God.

“This is the day the LORD has made; we will REJOICE and be glad in it.”

The word rejoice is a choice as much as it is a feeling. It means to celebrate, to lift our hearts, and to recognize God’s goodness even in ordinary moments. Some days are filled with ease and beauty; others come with burdens and uncertainty. Yet this verse calls us to joy regardless of circumstances because the Lord is still present within the day He created.

Joy grows when we pause long enough to notice His faithfulness — the quiet blessings, the strength He provides, the peace He gives, and the grace that carries us through each moment.

Psalm 118:24 reminds us that joy is not found in having a perfect day. It is found in knowing that every day belongs to a faithful God.

And perhaps that is why we can rejoice: because no matter what today holds, the One who made the day is already walking through it with us.
